Banana pudding is a classic dessert that's sure to satisfy any sweet tooth!

The banana pudding recipe I'm about to share with you is one of my favorite dessert recipes.  I really like this recipe for a few reasons, mainly because this dessert is delicious, simple, and easy to prepare.

This dessert recipe is a family favorite that's loved by everyone.  I make this pudding frequently, since my wife and son just can't get enough of this delightful banana dessert.  If you're looking for a homemade or scratch recipe this pudding recipe is not for you. For this recipe, simplicity is the key ingredient to creating a rich and fulfilling dessert. This simple and easy-to-follow recipe uses store bought cook and serve vanilla pudding.  

So this is the type of recipe you can get the kids involved in preparing. More importantly this is an anytime dessert favorite that you can eat anytime you want.  You can eat it for breakfast, eat it for lunch, eat it for dinner, or eat this dessert before you go to bed.

Banana Pudding Recipe

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 large boxes of cook and serve vanilla pudding
  • 6 cups whole milk
  • 1 box of vanilla wafers
  • 6-8 fresh bananas

Cookware and Utensils:

  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 medium boiling pot
  • 1 serving bowl
  • 1 stirring spoon

Recipe Instructions:

  1. As always the key to great cooking is preparation and quality ingredients.
  2. First, mix pudding and milk together. Second, bring mixture to boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until pudding thickens. Remove pudding from heat and allow to cool briefly. While your pudding is cooling go ahead and cut your bananas into quarter-inch thick slices. Once the bananas are sliced it's time to layer the pudding.
  3. Using a serving bowl of your choice, start with a layer of wafers on the bottom. Next add bananas then pudding. Repeat the process ending with a layer of vanilla wafers on top. Be sure to save your best looking wafers for the top layer.
  4. Refrigerate and serve cold unless you like your pudding hot. This dessert is also great topped with whipped cream.

Preparation Time = 10 minutes
Cooking Time = 20 minutes
