No need to guess what to cook for dinner. Just try the March Dinner Menu. What should I cook for dinner? I get asked that question all the time. My answer is the Dinner Menu for March, for both beginning and advanced cooks.
We all get stuck deciding what to cook from time to time. So hopefully, this menu will provide some inspiration for those of you who are hesitant to venture out and cook soul food cuisine.
The featured soul food dinner menu for the month of March includes:
We love this combination of fried catfish, hush puppies, and coleslaw. As icing on the cake we serve homemade peach cobbler and some cool and refreshing sweet tea.
This is the same menu items that we routinely recommend for fish fry's.
For catfish you could use catfish fillets for the whole catfish. During fish fry's I have found that most folks prefer the whole catfish over the fillets.
Be sure to buy plenty of catchup for the fried hush puppies.
Although not listed here if you have the time you can also fry up some homemade french fries to serve along with the hush puppies and catfish.
And before I forget do not, I mean, do not forget the hot sauce and tarter sauce.
A little helping hand never hurts. Over time you will learn to trust your instincts and cook from the soul. I make the most out of my kitchen time by preparing meals that feature side dishes that my family really enjoys.
When you feel like venturing out give that technique a try. If you found the march dinner useful try some other menu suggestions.
