Simple Layered Salad Recipe

We'd like to share this layered salad recipe that was submitted by a reader named Brenda L. Jackson. In case you don't already know, Brenda is a very accomplished cook who has already authored her own cookbook titled "Culinary Roots".

This is one of those recipes you can whip up in no time but presents well as if you had spend some time in the kitchen.  

Having tried this salad recipe myself I can now recommend it to you to be served at your next summer barbecue, family gathering, or special event.

Delicious Green Layered Salad Recipe

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 salad bag (Romaine and Radicchio), chopped
  • 3 stalks of celery, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 Bermuda onion, chopped
  • 1 bag frozen corn, thawed
  • 1 jar whipped salad dressing or any thick dressing you like
  • Sprinkle of garlic powder w/parsley
  • 1 bag shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 jar or bag of real bacon bits

Recipe Directions:

In a glass salad bowl, evenly layer the delicious green salad in the following order, Romaine and Radicchio salad, celery, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, onion, corn, salad dressing, garlic powered with parsley, cheddar cheese, and bacon bits.

Layered Green Salad Recipe Variations:

Be creative and experiment to improve upon the basic green salad recipe above by adding one or more of the follow ingredients: chicken, shrimp beans, tomatoes, etc.
