Out With the Old, In With the New

May sound a bit like TOO MUCH WORK?! But, I am a single mother of 2 kids, work part time and school as well, so saving money on food is usually a favorite in my house :).

I always have a white out board on the fridge during the week when I remember I need something I write it down. The day of or day before I do a total clean out of the fridge and make sure I write down what I know I want but don't have or on another section write down what I have (essentials) so I don't get them again!

Writing my list helps BIG TIME. Although I get things off the list I find I make less 2nd trips to the store for that loaf of bread and also only get what I need and wants are more healthy and minimal!!! We end up wasting so much food otherwise!

Having a menu to somewhat follow for 2 weeks helps major but is honestly A LOT OF WORK. I try my best to do this but it rarely is something I stick by but I was a good start to organizing food, time etc. Now I don't need the menu but I think wiser!!

Best of wishes to your saving!

P.S. Don't be too proud to coupon collect :)
