Here are the four best methods of how to cook corn on the cob.

Believe it or not, corn on the cob is as simple to cook as it is delicious. In the paragraphs that follow I will tell you how to boil, grill, microwave and steam some juicy, mouthwatering, tender corn on the cob.

You are truly only minutes away from cooking some of the best corn you've ever tasted. Before we get into the recipes I recommend you use fresh corn on the cob, the kind you'll have to shuck (remove the other layers).

How To Boil Corn On The Cob

To start you'll need a boiling pot large enough to hold the corn on the cob that you will be cooking. Don't worry if all the corn you want to cook will not fit into the pot. If you'll be cooking a lot of corn you'll have to cook in batches.

You need to shuck your corn before boiling it, just strip the corn until it is bare. Then rinse the corn under running cold water to remove the strings of silk. This cleans the corn.

Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil and then add your cleaned corn. If you're using fresh shucked corn it will only take about 10 minutes to boil corn, that is tender and juicy

After 10 minutes remove corn from the pot using tongs, add butter, salt and/or pepper if you desire and serve immediately.

How To Grill Corn On The Cob

Lets look at some more ways of How To Cook Corn On The Cob.

How To Microwave Corn On The Cob

What I like best about microwave corn on the cob is that its quick and easy and mess free.

For this recipe you'll cook the corn with the husk still on. Just clean the corn best you can by rinsing under running cold water. If you like you can cut off the excess silk.

Next, for the best results you'll need to soak your corn on the cob for at least a half hour before microwaving. You can add water to the dish you'll be microwaving in or just fill the sink with some water and submerge the corn on the cob.

When its time to microwave, remove the corn from the water and let drain for a minute or two. Put the corn on a microwave plate and follow your microwave instructions. The total cooking time various for each microwave but for me I can cook 2 ears of corn in 8 minutes.

Use tongs to remove your corn. Add the toppings you like and serve.

How To Steam Corn On The Cob

The key to steaming corn is having the right equipment. You will need a steamer specifically designed to steam, something that contains a lid.

Remove the husk and silks from each ear of corn and rinse thoroughly under running cold water.

Prepare your steamer for cooking following its instructions. When ready add your corn to the steamer tray/rack/basket and steam accordingly, covered. After about 10-15 minutes depending on your steamer the corn will be tender, juicy and ready to eat.

Remove with tongs and prepare your corn on the cob for eating.
