Buy in bulk only if you know the item will be used before it expires.
Some folks buy items because it is on sale and a good buy. For any given product, if you have never tried it or used it before chances are you want now that it is on sale. I have wasted money thinking I will like / use it now that it is on sale -- not anymore.. been there done that.
Don't go to the grocery store for just a loaf of bread or a gallon of milk. Ask a friend to pick it up for you, I save lots of money this way because if I go for these items I end up buying items I just do not need.
