Very Berry Blackberry Smoothie Recipe

This quick and easy blackberry smoothie recipe is BERRY delicious. This is in fact one of my favorite berry smoothie recipes. I'll tell you why this is the case later on.

This smoothie recipe is like most other recipes, in that its quick and easy to prepare.  The recipe calls for frozen blackberries but you can use fresh or frozen berries.  When blackberries are in season, I usually opt for fresh berries over frozen, because they're usually reasonably priced.

This is a popular smoothie recipe in my family since I am the only one to really like and eat blackberries on a regular basis.  So just before the blackberries spoil and use them up in a smoothie rather than throwing my hard earned money down the garbage disposal or in the trash.

In my opinion this is a very sweet smoothie so this is not something I will usually drink for breakfast, rather something I will enjoy mid-day after my afternoon weight lighting session.  After working out heavy in the gym I always crave a cool and refreshing beverage to drink.  Although not listed here in the ingredients list when I prepare this smoothie after a workout I will add 20 grams of protein.
