Pear Brownies

I learned how to cook this pear brownie dessert recipe from my old friend in Israel 3 years ago. She taught me lots of cooking and baking techniques.

Cooking Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
3 Pears, peeled, cured and thinly sliced
1/2 cup walnut, coarsely chopped
1 cup flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Baking Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F ( 175 C )

In a large bowl, beat together the butter, egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar and honey until become fluffy; fold over pear and walnuts. In separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Stir the flour mixture over wet mixture until blended.

Spread over greased and floured medium size baking dish. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean.

This wasn't a bad recipe but your directions really are not clear.

You do not say to put the pears and walnuts on the bottom of the dish and also it is not clear when to combine the wet ingredients with the dry.

I'm an experienced baker so I figured it out but the cake did not come out like it should. Also instead of saying a medium pan give the exact size.

Baking is an exact science not like cooking when you can wing it.
