How to Cook Dungeness Crab

Want to know how to cook Dungeness crab? If so, here are the simple steps I use to cook Dungeness crab. Before we get into the specifics you'll need the following staples and equipment:

Dungeness crab, fresh
Large pot with lid
Salt
Tongs
Unsalted Melted butter

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Use 1/4 cup salt per quart of water. Add enough water to completely cover the crabs without the water boiling over.

Using tongs lower your crabs into the water until the pot is considerably full (water won't overflow while boiling). Cover the pot with a lid and return to a boil. Cook for 15-20 minutes depending on the size of your crabs.

To aid in cleaning and eating, rinse the cooked Dungeness crab in cold water before handling.

If you desire serve with melted unsalted butter.
