Fast and Easy Banana Pudding

by Colleen Robinson
(Baltimore, Maryland)

Whenever my family gathers for holidays or special occasions, my husband and I are always asked to bring the banana pudding. Everyone loves it and it is quick and easy to fix.

Ingredients:

6-8 bananas
2 boxes of vanilla wafers (Nabisco)
2 16 ounce tubs of cool whip
2 boxes of instant banana pudding mix
4 cups of cold milk

Equipment:

1 - 3 inch deep casserole dish with lid (the aluminum pans work best)
1 - mixing bowl
1 - whisk
1 - spatula

Combine the instant banana pudding and cold milk whisking until the pudding reaches desired consistency. Fold in the cool whip. Set aside.

Layer the bottom of a casserole dish with vanilla wafers. Slice the banana into 1 quarter inch pieces. Cover the wafers with the bananas. Cover the bananas and wafers with the pudding mixture.

Repeat the layering process 2 more times ending with the cool whip mixture on the top. Cover the cool whip mixture with crumbled vanilla wafers. Refrigerate for 2 hours.

Serve and enjoy.

No bananas

If you don't want to use bananas, use banana flavored pudding. I'm about to make this for a friend who's craving it. With bananas of course.

banana pudding recipe

I have a question my pudding mixture is very watery? Did I do something wrong? I used 4 cups milk, two boxes of pudding like it says to do. Look back for a response.

Did you use the large boxes or the small boxes of pudding? Small boxes only call for one cup each, the larger boxes each need two.

The recipe was easy for a non-cooker like myself. I really enjoyed this recipe because it didn't taste heavy and sweet.

It's Great!!!
by: Danielle

I make this banana pudding time and time again and it is quick, easy, and very good. I make it with and without the banana's and I can't taste a difference. Most times I make it just cooking pudding. (banana pudding without the banana's)

You should try it! It's G-R-R-R-R-R-E-A-T!!!!!!!

When making this pudding can I omit the bananas and continue with this recipe? Will it taste the same without the bananas?

Banana Pudding - Simple You Just Have to Try This
by: Soul Food Chef

Colleen

Your banana pudding recipe looks so simple that I look forward to trying out the recipe.

I must admit I have never added whipped cream to my banana pudding dessert. But I suspect this one addition will make the pudding almost irresistible.
