Cowboy Stew

When we were young framers in the depression I was in charge of cooking. I was young so I didn't like to cook a meal for 10 people so I thought of this recipe. It feels you up with not a lot of a mess to clean up...lol.

1/2 pound of hamburger
6 potatoes
1 onion, finely chopped
5 cups of milk
1/2 stick of butter
1 teaspoon of salt or salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

Brown hamburger meat in skillet until brown. Peel potatoes and put in a big pot. Add milk, butter, chopped onion. Next pour in browned hamburger along with grease and cook until potatoes are done and the soup is thick.

Thanks for this simple to prepare but very tasty one pot meal. The meal was easy to prepare but my kids loved the finished dish.
