Corn Bread Recipe
This corn bread recipe is a family favorite, one of which you can serve with a variety of southern meals. You will need a 8 or 9 inch sqaure baking pan for this recipe.
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/3 cup granulateds sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon melted butter
1 can cooking oil/spray
To prepare oven for baking, preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. While oven is heating prepare corn bread mixture.
In a medium bowl, stir together dry ingredients consisting of: flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
In a measuring cup add vegetable oil, egg and milk. Pour into dry mixture and mix thouroughly until moist.
Grease baking pan by lining pan with cooking oil/spray. Pour mixture into pan and place into heated oven.
Bake cornbread for 20 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. When done remove from oven and brush with melted butter.
Remember this delicious bread can be served with many of your southern meals.
