Baked Pigs Feet Recipe

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 6 medium pigs feet
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 green pepper pods
  • 1 tablespoons celery seed
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon bacon fat or butter
  • 2 finely chopped onions
  • 3 to 4 finely chopped celery stocks
  • 3 to 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 can tomato purée(15 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Instructions:

  1. Wash pigs feet well. Then add pigs feet to a heavy bottom pot and cover with cold water. Next add in vinegar, bay leaves, celery seeds, green peppers, and salt. Boil pig feet until tender. Remove pot from heat, drain water, then place pigs feet in a single layer in a baking pan.
  2. Next you're ready to prepare the sauce you will use to bake the pigs feet. In a medium sauce pan, sauté onion, celery, garlic, and pepper in bacon fat or butter. Add in tomato purée, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to taste. Let sauce thicken while simmering for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Pour tomato purée sauce over pigs feet and cover pan with aluminum foil. Bake in preheat oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 minutes. Remove baked pigs feet from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving alongside your favorite side dishes.
