Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2-3 pounds chicken wings
  • 4 key limes
  • grill seasoning to taste
  • kosher salt to taste
  • 1 cup natural honey

Recipe Instructions:

  1. For starters, under running cold water rinse the chicken wings thoroughly and pat them dry using paper towels.
  2. Place the chicken wings in a plastic storage bag. Squeeze juice from limes into the bag, over the top of the chicken. Add seasoning and salt to taste. Also place the sliced limes in the bag, then mix all ingredients well. Let the chicken marinate for 30 minutes or overnight (overnight prefered).
  3. When ready to bake, pour wings along with marinade mixture (minus limes) into a large baking pan, spreading wings out evenly. Cover baking pan with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350 degree for 1 hour or until tender.
  4. Next remove foil, pour honey on wings and continue to bake uncovered for 10 minutes. Finish off by broiling on low for another 10 minutes until honey has caramelized and skin is slightly crispy on the wings.

These broiled honey caramelized and crispy skinned wings are both healthy and nearly fat-free.  This will easily become one of your family go-to recipes for chicken wings. I usually throw in more wings than what's listed on the ingredients list whenever I prepare this recipe. This so that I have a a few extra wings that I can take and enjoy for lunch. If you also take lunch to work each day this is something you will want to do too.
