Leftover Ham RecipesHere's What to Do With Your Leftover HamHere I've complied a collection of leftover ham recipes and ideas. But before I get into the leftover ham recipes, I'd like to share the glazed baked ham recipe that I usually cook. If you'd rather not see the recipe just stroll past it to the recipes for leftover ham. Glazed Baked Ham Recipe8 to 10 pound smoked ham Glaze for Baked Ham 1/2 cup honey Cooking Instructions: Preheat oven according to hams package cooking directions. Place ham fat side up on the rack of a shallow roasting pan. Insert oven meat thermometer through fat side into center of thickest part of the ham, but don't let it touch the bone. Bake ham according to package directions. About 1/2 hour before ham is done prepare glaze by combining ingredients and mixing well. Next remove ham from oven and pour off drippings. Peel away any rind that is left on ham and score ham with a sharp knife. While scoring make diamond shaped cuts. Insert a clove into each diamond. Spread ham generously with glaze and return to oven. After applying glaze, bake until desired internal temperature is reached. Remove ham from oven and allow to stand for about 20 minutes before slicing. If desired, remaining glaze can be poured over sliced ham. This glazed baked ham recipe makes 10 to 12 servings. If you're like me and most people I know you will always end up with leftover ham. Not wanting to throw out good meat I always wondered what to do. After thinking for quite some time I came up with the leftover ham recipes you'll find below. Grilled Cheese and Ham sandwiches - This sandwich works for breakfast, lunch or dinner. To start with you'll need some thinly sliced ham for this recipe. I usually toast my bread in the oven. All you have to do is preheat the oven and once the oven is good and hot, add two slices of bread. Once the bread begins to brown, place a single slice of cheese on one slice of bread. Meanwhile heat the sliced ham in the microwave (or in a pan on the stove top). Remove toasted bread from oven and add your ham. Here is a grilled cheese sandwich recipe that you might want to try. Ham and Cheese Omelet - Who doesn't love ham and cheese omelet for breakfast? All you have to do is dice your leftover ham and add the diced egg to your omelet. Click here if you need a omelet recipe. Ham Salad - Here is a nice ham salad recipe that I usually make witin a day or two of cooking ham. Follow this link to the Ham salad recipe. The recipe is at the bottom of the page. |
