Southern Beverage and Drink Recipes

Beat the heat with a refreshing southern beverage and drink recipe. Sweet tea, sun tea and lemonade have long been southern favorites.

Down south there is much debating over which southern beverage or drink is best. The general public prefers sweet tea, some people like sun tea and other's favor lemonade. I'm an advocate for all three drinks.

Growing up in the Deep South, I took sweet tea, sun tea and freshly squeezed lemonade for granted since it was readily available.

But I don't now. Living abroad in Germany and visiting countries like Africa, England, France, Greece, Spain and Turkey, I came to the realization that I was missing out on a great thing. I missed the southern tradition of having sun tea or lemonade for lunch and sweet tea for dinner.

It's good to be back in the United States. Just visit any truly southern eating establishment in the Deep South and you'll surely get the most refreshing drink of your life. Because nobody makes tea and lemonade better than southerners.
