Our 4 Most Delicious Salad Sandwich Recipes

Here are four great salad sandwich recipes that use simple ingredients that I'm sure you'll have readily available in your kitchen.

Basic meats such as chicken, ham and tuna can be combined with eggs, mayonnaise, vegetables, fresh herbs and seasonings to create great tasting salad spreads for sandwiches.

Depending on your particular taste you have two options for enjoying your newly created salad spread.

You can serve your salad spread between two slices of your favorite bread or the spread can be served over a bed of salad greens.

Both options work well.

For lunch I'll usually eat the salad spread between to slices of my favorite bread. When I prepare this recipe for dinner I serve the spread over a bed of salad greens.

Recipe for Chicken Salad Sandwich

This chicken salad is easy to make using leftover or fresh chicken chunks.

Recipe Ingredients:

3 cups fully cooked chicken, cubed
1/4 cup chopped celery
3 tablespoons mayonnaise or miracle whip
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
salt and ground pepper to taste

Recipe Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.

2. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and then serve with bread, saltine crackers or over fresh greens.

If you're making a s sandwiches, serve this chicken salad spread between two slices of bread along with tomatoes, pickles and lettuce.

Recipe for Egg Salad Sandwich

Recipe Ingredients:

6 hard boiled eggs, finely chopped
1/4 to 1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons minced onions
2 tablespoons minced celery
salt and ground pepper to taste

Recipe Instructions:

1. Place eggs in a saucepan with enough cold water to cover eggs by 1 inch. Bring water to a boil and cover saucepan. Reduce heat to a simmer and allow eggs to cook for 12 to 15 minutes depending on size of eggs (small to jumbo). Using a slotted spoon remove eggs from hot water, submerge in cold water to prevent further cooking. Once eggs have cooled peel and finely chop.

2. In a medium bowl, combine the egg, mayonnaise, onions, celery, salt and pepper to taste. Mix ingredients well.

3. Refrigerate egg salad until cold. Lightly top with paprika before serving.

1 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
1 teaspoon lemon juice
salt and ground pepper to taste

Recipe Instructions:

1. If using canned tuna drain away water or vegetable oil. Place tuna into medium bowl and flake using a fork.

2. Add remaining ingredients to tuna and stir well.

Before serving tuna, refrigerate it well until cold.

Serve this tuna salad recipe on a bed of crisp lettuce or between two slices of your favorite bread.

Recipe for Ham Salad Sandwich
