Tired of Dieting

by Latrece

I have tried diet after diet after diet and none have been sucessful for me. I am starting to think that I am the problem. Most of the diets that I have tried force you to eat things that you absolutely hate.

I do believe that it would work if strictly followed, but why make yourself sick with food that is not appetizing.

There has to be another way. I often feel like a failure, but some of the foods make me want to vomit just thinking about them (cottage cheese).

Another problem is that when I start dieting, I become afraid to eat. I feel that if I eat one wrong thing, I will gain more weight, so I end up starving myself out of fear.

I'm just tired of the never ending cycle and would like to find something that actually works without you having to sacrifice your soul. Just my feeling.

Diets Dont Work
by: Martha

I completely understand your feelings. I have a long history of dieting but finally decided to give up dieting forever. It is possible to develop a healthy relationship with food. Two books that really helped me:

The Slow Down Diet - How to Eat for Pleasure, Energy, and Weight loss by Marc David

and

Diets Don't Work by Bob Schwartz

I strongly recommend them.

The other thing that really helped me was doing yoga. It is a gentle mind-body exercise that helps you learn to relax and relate to your body in a whole new way.

I have a website with several articles about healthy weight loss --www.simple-nourished-living.com.

Don't Give Up! There is hope!
