My family loves this sweet potato pie, I have to make it for them every thanksgiving. It's so simple and delicious!

Melt margarine in microwave until melted, pour into to pie crust. Add sweet potato mixture into pie crust.

Bake for 35-40 minutes. Pie will be done when pierced with fork comes out clean.

Great Pie

What a wonderful pie!! I followed the directions exactly and we were not disappointed. I did put pie shield guards around the crust edge the entire time it was baking. My only suggestion to bakers would be to make sure your sweet potatoes are drained thoroughly. By the way, we like it better cold, right out of the fridge. So easy and so delicious. I'll be making this over and over with the rave reviews I received. Thank you from Roselle, IL.

My baby sister always thought she can out cook anyone in the family. When she make her pies her gram cracker curst be burned. After I try it your way and add something to it, and not did it come out perfect for my 1st try, out of all 4 pies I only got 1 slice and the family just swallow it before I can go for another, and they begging me to make for Christmas, and I will! ;-)
Thank You!

Great recipe

I made this twice and both times my family loved it! The one change I did make was to a dash of vanilla. This will definitely be in the pie rotation lol

I am personally a great sweet potato lover and usually I do have them in steamed form and never have tried much variety of dishes with sweet potato. And recently, I was thinking about trying something of that sort. Hope this would be the best one to start with.

Delicious mistake
by: Cherie Pittman

My husband accidentally brought the wrong pie crust.. Normally I use the unbaked ones, anyway he came home with the graham cracker pie crust. I was a little upset at first, but then I came across your recipe and I must say it was very delicious.. Thanks for sharing your recipe with me.. Will definitely use again.

Graham cracker sweet potato pie
by: Kathleen K. Moss

A few years ago, I found a recipe for a similar pie. I shoulda used the ready made crust, but I went ahead and smashed up a whole lotta graham crackers, with melted butter etc.

I found that I had picked up white sweet spuds in error, was too late now to change them out.....soooooooooooo, I just went along with it all and the best thing I think I did flavoring-wise was, to use Trader Joe's Pumpkin Pie Spice and doubled the vanilla extract. I then snuck in a teeny amount of cayenne pepper.

I dropped spuds, eggs, vanilla, etc. in that big 'ole bowl and went to mixing and mashing and flour was flying everywhere, thought it was snowin'!

Well, to make it a short story, all I know it that the whole thing was devoured in seconds flat!!!

I think I heard a few of 'em slurppin' pie up through straws.

And me who thought she had messed up by buyin' the wrong taters and maybe had cut too much butter into the batter and into those graham crackers....well, it turned out to be a truly royal big 'ole smash with everybody.

I finally got a hold of a sliver slice and I was quite surprised at myself. I was gonna pat myself on the back, but then remembered, it started out as a fluke, I asked for strength from my man above and told Him I'll bake Him one anytime his sweet tooth got to Him.

He heard my plea and together we pulled off the best ever White Sweet Potato Pie w/graham cracker crust for Christmas 2008.

That was also the Christmas that I was going through the first round of chemo therapy, hardly any strength and still wanted to do as normal a holiday as possible....and I SUCCEEDED!!!

Anything is possible if you just take some deep breaths, say to yourself, "I Am", and know that you are gonna be able to accomplish whatsoever you desire to do and know when it comes to baking, the Man with the Sweet Tooth is right at your side!

Happy Holidays to all and be kind and loving to all who cross your path....a smile can make a big difference in a person's life.

Try it and see!

foil vs paper bag
by: mary

I read somewhere (forgotten in what) that a brown papr bag placed on top of the pie works just as well as using foil on the edges the paper bag covers the entire pie. Do you agree/disagree? I have tried the foil not the paper bag.
