Sloppy Joes

by Mary

My kids can not get enough of this sloppy joe recipe. Whenever I am short on time but need to fix a quick and easy meal I turn to this recipe. I think you will enjoy this as well if you have a bunch of hungry kids.

What I like most about the recipe that follows in the use of fresh ingredients. So this will taste much better than what you get from the can.

1 pound ground beef
1 small red bell pepper
1 small green bell pepper
1 small sweet onion
3/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 package of hamburger buns (6)

Start out by dicing your bell peppers and onion. Lighly spray a medium skillet with vegetable oil. Next add your ground beef and diced vegetables to skillet.

Cook ingredients over medium heat until the meat is thoroughly browned, about 8-10 minutes.

In a measuring cup mix together the ketchup, mustard and vinegar. Add mixture to browned beef mixture, reduce heat and simmer for another 10-15 minutes.

Scoop finshed product onto buns and enjoy.
