Hot Dinner Rolls

by Crystal F.

Hot Dinner Rolls

4 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 package dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 pint lukewarm water
1/4 cup shortening

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients, except for the shortening. Mix well, then fold in shortening.

2. Set dough aside in bowl, covered with a towel for about 1-1/2 hours. This should cause the dough to double in size. After the dough has doubled, "punch" it down to remove out the air. Let the dough raise again for another 1-1/2 hrs. Punch down the dough once again.

3. Next form balls of dough and spread them out on an ungreased cookie sheet. Let the dough double in size once again, as balls.

4. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until just golden brown on top.

I wanted to know, can you use butter instead of shortening, I try other recipes and it taste better than that, I suppose if I can, what would happen if I use butter. Thanks Karen on the south side of Chicago.

Not a good recipe whatsoever. They did not have flavor and seems as if something was missing from this recipe.
