Quick and Easy Fried OystersThis fried oysters recipe is a quick and easy family favorite. All you really need is a pint of shucked oysters and cracker crumbs or meal in order to cook-up a quick and delicious helping of oysters. Just in case you are wondering about Oyster Season, here's the skinney. The old saying is only eat oysters in months that contain the letter "r"....basically September through April. Below you'll find the oyster recipe for your enjoyment. Oyster RecipeRecipe Ingredients 1 pint shucked oysterscracker crumbs or meal salt pepper Cooking Directions 1. Using a cast iron skillet or deep fryer, heat cooking oil to high heat. While oil is heating drain and paper towel dry your sucked oysters. 2. Season towel dryed oysters with salt and paper and then roll in cracker crumbs or meal and set aside until oil is ready. 3. Once oil is hot go ahead and place the seasoned raw oysters into the skillet or deep fryer. For best results place a few in at a time, ensuring you do not overcrowd the skillet or fryer. 4. Serve your cooked oysters with hush puppies, French fries and you favorite condiment. This recipe serves 4 people. |
