This fried oysters recipe is a quick and easy family favorite. All you
really need is a pint of shucked oysters and cracker bread crumbs or meal in
order to cook-up a quick and delicious helping of oysters fried to perfection. My personally preference for oysters is eating them raw straight off the half shell.
That said, from time to time I like to step out of my normal routine and fry my oysters.
Since I'm the only one in the family that eats oysters whether they are raw of fried I can always count on getting full from my meal.
Just in case you are wondering when is Oyster Season, here's the skinny.
The old saying is only eat oysters in months that contain the letter "r"....basically September through April. Below you'll find the oyster recipe for your enjoyment.
1 pint shucked oysters
cracker crumbs or meal
1. Using a cast iron skillet or deep fryer, heat cooking oil to high heat. While oil is heating drain and paper towel dry your sucked oysters.
2. Season towel dryed oysters with salt and paper and then roll in cracker crumbs or meal and set aside until oil is ready.
3. Once oil is hot go ahead and place the seasoned raw oysters into the skillet or deep fryer. For best results place a few in at a time, ensuring you do not overcrowd the skillet or fryer.
